Livestock Guardian Dogs

On our farm, our LGDs are essential for protecting our livestock from local predators, including bear, mountain lion, bobcat, Fischer cat, racoons, coyote, mink and birds of prey.

Thier working capabilities include patrolling boundaries independently and with their owner. They are trained to respect gates and fenced boundaries and are proficient working with cattle, sheep, goats, chickens, ducks, Guinea fowl.
Our LGDs are trained for working independently and in pairs, and demonstrate self-control, quick to movement into action, gentleness with young stock and children, steady demeanor, and relentless aggression and fearless towards unwanted predators.

We raise, train and sell Anatolian, Great Pyrenees and PYR/Maremma mix livestock guardian dogs. They are fed a diet of part high quality kibble and whole foods such as beef, chicken, goat, lamb, rabbit. Our dogs routinely test negative for Lyme disease (likely due to the guineafowl on the property). We currently do not have a breeding pair and do not anticipate a litter for the next year. Typically, we train our puppies for 12 to 18 months with poultry, goats, sheep and cattle. It is a long process but pays off for years to come. We would not have that level of training for at least the next two years.
